SUBJ: SYRIAN "FINAL SOLUTION"
of the most recent aerial photos reveals many of the bases that showed
bolstered forces now show very little military hardware. It may all be
committed or it may also all be out of service. Some of the airstrips up
north have been taken by the opposition and jets out of commission.
sites show abandoned airfields and bases, or in disarray. Indications
are that the Syrian army may well be at the end of its tether and too
weak to repel an invading force.
Assad may only have a few loyal
battalions at his disposal to carry on the fight and it may explain why
nerve agents were introduced last week, as his "Final Solution."
There may not even be enough onshore missile batteries to repel a direct cruise missile strike from the Mediterranean.
result: All of this points to a military coup within the ranks, the
same thing that ultimately brought the current dictator to power through
his father. Whatever military remains would be wise to avert a direct
invasion from Allied forces that would result in an army of occupation
for years to come. Assad dreads this, the army won't stand for it, the
Allies don't need it...and Syria could do without it.
